Thai Crab Fried Rice

Crab fried rice is a popular Thai and Southeast Asian dish that combines cooked rice with crab meat, vegetables, and a variety of seasonings and sauces.Crab meat is the star of this dish, adding a sweet and delicate seafood flavor.

The cooking process usually takes around 15- 20 mins, making it a great option for a weeknight meal.You can easily customize the ingredients by adding or omitting vegetables and adjusting the level of spiciness.

    Crab fried rice is relatively quick and easy to prepare. All you need is leftover rice on hand.Chop half cup onion carrots and onions.  I use about 3-4 cup of day old rice. For the sauce combination I added fish sauce , oyster sauce , crab paste , soy sauce , sugar and ginger. Mix and sit aside. Clumps of crab meats is a must in this dish , I used about 6 oz of crab meat. Thai cuisine is known for its ability to balance sweet, salty, sour, and spicy flavors in a harmonious way. 

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and onions, cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, be careful not to burn it.

  3. Add the day old rice breaking up any clumps of rice and sauté for 1-2 mins.set aside ,and pour the beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until they are cooked through.Mix into rice 

  4. Add the mixed vegetables to the pan and stir-fry for a few minutes until they start to soften.Fold in the crab meat,. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the crab meat is heated through.Mix well. The crab meat adds a unique texture to the dish. It's tender and succulent, providing a pleasant contrast to the fluffy rice and crunchy vegetables.

  5. Pour the soy sauce mixture (over rice.Stir everything together to ensure the rice is evenly coated with the seasonings.Taste the fried rice and adjust the seasonings if needed. I added some white pepper and salt to taste .

  6. Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove the pan from the heat.Serve the crab fried rice hot, garnished with chopped green onions and lime wedges on the side.I serve mine with crab leg and sauce .
